An Interview With Eliza Koch
We’re thrilled to share our newest collaboration with artist Eliza Koch, known for her vibrant, acrylic still-life art. Her passion for bright colours, home-grown elements, and the beauty of everyday moments shines through in our new collection of Workbooks, Shopping Bags, and Tea Towels.
Featuring five stunning designs – By The Sea, Brunch, Passionfruit Pavlova, Lemon Tart & Berries, and Citrus – each piece in this special collection showcases Eliza’s signature style.
We had the pleasure of sitting down with Eliza to chat about her artistic journey, sources of inspiration, and the joy she finds in creating beautiful moments through her work. We hope you love this collaboration as much as we do!
We’d love to hear about your journey as an artist. How did you first get into acrylic painting, and where do you draw inspiration from?
Your artistic style is so distinctive with its stunning vibrant colours and patterns! In what ways has your style changed over time, and which influences have been most impactful in defining it?
Over time I think my process and composition has changed. This collection for example my composition is quite linear and at the moment I am painting a bit more evenly over the entire canvas.
I think my style is influenced by my love of food photography, I love reading cook books and the beautiful photos that accompany them. I love the perfectly placed items and beautiful plates and tablecloths.
Excitingly, this is our very first collaboration together! How has the experience of collaborating with Bespoke Letterpress been for you, and what does this collection mean to you?
I have loved the experience; I feel so grateful for the opportunity! I started this collection with no plans in particular and Alischa loved it and could see the vision! I love what she and the Bespoke Letterpress team have done with my work, I particularly enjoy seeing it in a different format that can be accessible to so many people!
For me this collection is all about colour and celebrating together around the table and in the garden.

From the new collection, is there a particular artwork or product that you’re especially proud of or connected to?
My favourite piece is the Lemon Tart & Berries, with the green semi-circle background. I can remember the concepts of this piece coming to me and I couldn’t paint it fast enough! I think this was the piece that brought the collection together, I had painted a few of the other pieces before this one but after this one the collection became cohesive.
What do you hope people feel or experience when they see your art in their homes or on stationery?
I just hope my paintings bring people joy! The colours of this collection are so bright and cheerful, I hope people enjoy using their Bespoke Letterpress products in their homes and gifting to friends and family as I will be!
How do you stay inspired and keep your work feeling fresh?
Colour is a huge factor for me, I love to try new colour combinations. I find the more I paint the more inspired I am, often some of my smaller pieces end up featuring elements in my larger pieces. They are all part of the process.
What has been the most rewarding part of seeing your designs brought to life in products like our workbooks, tea towels and shopping bags?
I love the collaborative experience and seeing my paintings in a different format and scale. I’m excited to see the beautiful Bespoke Letterpress quality products and to be able to use them in my own home and share them with my friends and family.
Is there a piece of advice you’d give to aspiring artists looking to develop their own unique style?
My advice would be to keep going, put yourself out there and be open to new challenges or experiences!
And finally, what’s next in the world of Eliza? Are there any exciting new projects or collaborations on the horizon that you can share a little sneak peek of with us?
I am actually painting very slowly at the moment, we are in the process of renovating our house so my little home studio feels more like a store room which makes it hard for me to paint in. It’s nice not to have too much pressure, I think I paint my best work when I have more time to create without a deadline!
